CostaAlert

Terms of service

These terms set the ground rules for using CostaAlert responsibly.

Last updated:

1. Accepting these terms

By accessing CostaAlert or creating an account, you agree to these terms and acknowledge our Privacy notice. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be able to enter a binding contract where you live.

2. Road safety comes first

CostaAlert is an informational, community road-safety service. Reports can be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate or already resolved. They are not official instructions, emergency dispatch, navigation advice or a substitute for road signs and lawful directions.

Never interact with CostaAlert while driving. Always follow Spanish traffic law and the instructions of emergency services and public authorities. In an emergency, stop safely and contact 112.

3. Accounts

Give accurate account information, protect your password and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity performed through your account. One person must not use accounts to evade limits or enforcement.

4. Reports, votes and location

Submit only road-safety information you reasonably believe is current and accurate. Do not include personal data, vehicle registration numbers, allegations about identifiable people, illegal material, advertising or content unrelated to road safety. Choose report locations carefully because published coordinates are visible to other users.

You keep ownership of content you submit. You give CostaAlert a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce, adapt and moderate that content only as needed to operate, improve and promote the service. We may merge, expire, label or remove reports and votes to protect feed quality and users.

5. Premium plans and payments

The current price, billing period and included features are shown before purchase. Card subscriptions are processed by Stripe and renew on the terms shown at checkout until cancelled. Bitcoin and activation-code purchases may be one-off access periods. Contact us if you need help managing or cancelling a plan.

Taxes, refunds, cancellation and withdrawal rights are handled in accordance with the checkout terms and applicable consumer law. We may change future prices or features, but we will not change an already-paid access period without a valid reason. A Premium plan does not guarantee that any particular third-party traffic provider will always be available.

6. Prohibited use

You must not:

  • use CostaAlert to facilitate dangerous, unlawful or evasive driving;
  • post knowingly false reports, manipulate votes, harass people or impersonate others;
  • probe, overload, scrape or bypass access controls except where law expressly permits;
  • introduce malicious code or interfere with the service or another user; or
  • resell CostaAlert or use its data to build a competing feed without permission.

7. Availability and third-party services

CostaAlert depends on community reports, public information and third-party hosting, maps, traffic feeds and payment services. We work to keep it useful, but do not promise uninterrupted service, complete coverage, permanent storage or error-free data. We may change, suspend or discontinue parts of the service for operational, security or legal reasons.

8. Responsibility and liability

Use CostaAlert at your own judgment and risk. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not responsible for driving decisions, fines, accidents, missed or inaccurate reports, or losses caused by third-party services. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer rights.

9. Suspension and termination

You may stop using CostaAlert at any time. We may restrict or close an account that breaches these terms, threatens safety or security, abuses the community, or exposes us or others to legal risk. Where practical, we will explain the action and offer a way to contact us.

10. Changes, law and contact

We may update these terms as CostaAlert develops. Material changes will be posted here with a new date. Spanish law applies, without removing any mandatory rights or forum available to consumers where they live.

Questions about these terms or Premium billing can be sent to info@pharoahtechnology.co.uk.
